The 12th Grade curriculum is the twelfth school year after kindergarten. It is also the last year of compulsory
secondary education, or high school. Find education materials for teachers as students often enter the grade as 17 years old
and graduate as 18 years old. Many students consider the twelfth grade a year to use brain based learning strategies
and prepare for transition out of their old lives into college or the workplace. The class work for some is generally not
as difficult as in the eleventh grade because the eleventh grade is generally the year where the important examinations take
place such as SAT and ACT. Others take advantage of the opportunity to complete creative movement lessons, such as Advanced
Placement and educational resources for students. Mathematics courses focus normally on Pre Calculus and/or Trigonometry.
Honors and Advanced Placement students normally have already taken these courses and study Calculus, either Advanced Placement
Calculus or an introductory course. English classes tend to focus on English Literature. Popular works include Beowulf, The
Canterbury Tales, and a Shakespearean tragedy, normally Macbeth or Hamlet. For students who choose to take AP English, courses
focus more on world literature and might include works such as Inferno, Goethe's Faust, Brave New World, and a Shakespeare
work. Nearing the end of the school year, there is a graduation event, more formally referred to as commencement, where the
seniors formally graduate from high school homeschool curriculum and receive their diplomas. See other pages for elementary
teacher resources and autism classroom strategies for the multiple intelligences classroom approach.
